Second Amendment: History and Purpose
The second amendment has been a hot topic lately, especially with the talk of new gun control. Perhaps one of the main reasons why it is being so hotly debated is because people have long forgotten the purpose of the amendment and because of that, its ability to protect the nation has been greatly reduced. There is a lot of confusion regarding the second amendment. An in House Analysis of the Efficacy of Gun Control Laws
It’s easy to say that we need greater control over guns. However, if such measures do not work then they are nothing more than feel good measures. In addition, excessive regulation and government control is never a good thing. Lastly, many have written on the view that more guns means less crime. We at Politicoid therefore spent some time evaluating the efficacy of gun control laws within the United States. We utilized data from the Brady Campaign and the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting system. Based on this information, we concluded that there is not enough evidence to suggest that gun control laws are effective.
